Elon Musk co-founded Neuralink in the year 2016, but he’s worldwide known for being the founder, CEO and lead designer of SpaceX and also for his work as CEO and product architect of Tesla, Inc.

On August 28, this impressive technology entrepreneur and philanthropist revealed the progress update for 2020 summer of Neuralink, introducing it as a straight path to connect computers and the human brain. Dorothy is the name of the pig that was the subject of study and experimentation, and it's completely fine to this date after having for two months this coin-sized computer chip installed in its brain.
In summary, the Neuralink 1024-electrode read/write link device was approved as a FDA breakthrough device, which allows it to be used in limited human testing under the FDA guidelines for testing medical devices, which is expected to happen this year.
Neuralink could be the company to accomplish in this century an incredible advance with the use of AI technology, it is possible to think now that, with the proper training, humans could control hardware and software with the mind, and even communicate in the same fashion. What if the chip is hacked? No worries, it’s not possible to read your thoughts or control your body; what could be possible if hacked is to incommode the mind or detect/predict body movements because of the neurochemical pulse of the brain.
For fans of sci-fi genre, this news can lead to various alternative stories, similar to those of the famous Netflix series Black Mirror; but in our reality, neuroscience seeks to support medicine to understand the most complex organ of the human being: the brain.
